16 - Christ Values # 7 Faithfulness

Christ Values: Faithfulness
Values of Christ: Number Seven: faithfulness.

Faithfulness encompasses the physical actions, emotional and mental actions, as well as being faithful to our spiritual principles and beliefs. This sounds so nice and easy, but it is not. To be able to be faithful to principles means we are mature enough to stand by our word and are not swayed by being politically correct and trying to fit in. It takes a lot of maturity to remain faithful. It takes courage, strength, ability to sacrifice, and a deep comitment to principle and not expediency.

When you are faithful, people can depend on you. When others around you are faithful, you can depend on them. There is security in knowing that you and your loved ones are dependable and accountable.

Here is the Seventh value excerpted from The Teachings of Christ:

The seventh value that He gave is faithfulness. “I promise you. I am not going to tell this to anybody.” Faithfulness is so scarce. Can you find faithfulness in contemporary life? …Three percent, maybe. Faithfulness to each other is so rare. Faithfulness to your inner divinity, faithfulness to your principles and ideals, faithfulness to your promises, faithfulness to your visions, faithfulness to your commitments — look what a Teaching He is giving! He is not giving yak-yak, come to the church, then hit each other, beat each other. He never taught that. His Teaching is so serious. He said, “My Teaching is life.”

You know, I didn’t understand that word for thirty years. I really mean it. “My words are life.” I said, “What does He mean by ‘life’?” Now I am understanding a little. It means that His words must be living actions, motions, emotions, and thoughts in you, nothing else. If they are not expressed and lived through your life, it is not good. They cannot help you. But if you use the values, the ideals that He brought, you will be very happy, successful, and victorious in everything. You cannot beat these values. There is not a philosopher that can beat these values.
