11 - Christ Values #2: Goodwill

Ten ideas of Christ
Idea Two: Goodwill

Here is Idea Two that Christ gave in His Teachings: Goodwill among men (and women of course). Try having goodwill in your heart for people you know this week. See if your attitude changes with this inner change of attitude.

Here is the next exerpt from Torkom Saraydarian:

The second value that Christ brought and really emphasized through His striving, lectures, and talks was goodwill among men. Goodwill means that you always wish good for that man. Whenever you are talking, whenever you are writing, whenever you are doing something, do you have that motivation behind your actions that you are doing everything for the good of other people? Who are the other people? They are your brothers. Look how the first and second threads are tied together!

Goodwill means that you are in contact with the good within you and are trying to awaken the good in others. When you are in contact with the good within you and trying to awaken the good within others, there is nothing else but goodness. When there is goodness, you have safety. There is no fear. If you eliminate fear, you are eliminating eighty percent of the causes of human sickness.

One of my friends, who is a psychiatrist, called me the other day and said, “Torkom, in one of your books you said that fear can cause cancer. Two doctors have now written a paper about it.”
We do not need doctors to write about it. We know it. We know what it means. In fear there is strain, stress, and tremendous tension on your cells, and they grow too fast and crack. That is what the cancer is.

When you have goodwill, you are eliminating something that is killing humanity. You can leave your homes and cars unlocked. You can go out at midnight and walk in the streets and nobody will touch you because there is the brotherhood of man, the fatherhood of God, and goodwill in the hearts.

Instead of building bombs, educate people. Instead of building weapons, illuminate nations. Then war becomes an impossibility, and crime becomes an impossibility. That is what Christ was teaching us. That is what He gave His life to show us. There is no other way to fly. The only way to fly is the fatherhood of God, the brotherhood of humanity, and goodwill among men. If you act against goodwill, you are acting against yourself. You are acting against the laws of health, happiness, and prosperity.

Christ did not come to establish a religion. He was speaking wisdom, common sense, and He was explaining a law of Nature. This is a great law, a good law, a law that takes you from stage to stage toward perfection. It is the law of evolution. Goodwill is nothing else but realization of that law and working toward it accordingly.
